Monica Martinez Maher has been a performer in Austin since 2014 and has been teaching improv since 2017. She has directed and performed in many improvised productions in Austin as well as at improv festivals across the nation. She loves teaching improv because of how it reshapes people’s thinking with regards to failure, risk-taking, and what truly makes people laugh. Her belief that everyone has the capacity for comedy and the ability to succeed on stage is apparent in her teaching style. Her goal is to help others have fun, and she has a lot of fun doing it! She can be seen performing regularly with Gal Pals (a duo with her super-talented bestie), The Association (an all-female musical improv troupe), and in the Big Bash.
