Luke Wallens

Luke Wallens dove into the world of improv in 2011 at the Hideout and has loved it ever since. He is a theater nerd with a degree in Drama from Colorado College and an MA in Collaborative Theatre: Playwriting Strand from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. He has played in many improv shows including Austin Secrets at the Hideout Theater, The Next Chapter at the Institution Theater, and The Wentworths at Coldtowne Theater. He currently performs in the Hideout’s longest running student-mainstage-show-turned-improv-troupe: Golden: Improvised Silent Stories. He also writes and acts in his sketch troupe, Martini Ranch and has hosted monthly stand-up shows, Laugh Out Proud at the Institution Theater and Fruitbowl! at the Spiderhouse Ballroom.

He has been teaching improv since 2013 starting with Saturday-morning kids improv classes then Hideout and Coldtowne summer camps and currently the Hideout’s Building Connections and Outreach programs. He has also directed several Hideout student mainstage shows. He loves helping people find their creative and playful sides through character development.
