April Session (four weeks)
Spend four weeks playing improv warm-ups, games, and scenes led by one of the Hideout’s top teachers.
It’s like an improv class, but there’s no performance at the end, no next level, and no expectations—just ninety minutes of pure fun. Register for an upcoming month of classes (like an improv boot camp!) and get ready to have a blast.Drag King ComedyWed. 4/8 - Thu. 4/9, 7:00-10:00pm
Hideout Upstairs Theater
Two-day workhsop w/ Deanna Fleysher
Drag queens aren’t the only funny ones. Not by a longshot. We will find, hone, and fully work out the stupid man asshole inside of you, so that you can slay the competition at being a hilarious, unique, vulnerable and very manly drag king. Through exercises based in clown, grotesque and physical theater, we will hone your man body, clarify your physical and vocal expression, and get you pumped full of generally funny masculine juice.

Hideout Upstairs Theater
Weekend Intensive w/ Deanna Fleysher
Naked Comedy will demand your heart, your guts, and all your fluids. We will see how funny you can be without thinking or trying. We will learn about your unique connection to the audience. We will see the bravery required for you to really be vulnerable. We will witness the gratification that comes with letting go. Expose yourself (metaphorically speaking) and make people laugh.Narrative OneSat. Apr 11th, 1:30pm (CDT)
with Caeriel Crestin
In the intro class of our narrative improv series, you’ll dive headfirst into what might be the most difficult work we do at the Hideout: long-form narrative. Through games, exercises and training formats, you’ll learn the basic elements of improvising a 30-minute story: who is the story about, what kind of story is it, when to explore and when to move things along, and how get out of your own way and let your natural storytelling instincts take over. THIS CLASS IS VIRTUAL (on Zoom).

Hideout Ground Floor Theater
In Take Center Stage, we will focus on mastering improvised solos, a scary thing that comes up a lot in improvised musicals. We will focus on the dynamics within the songs as well as the scene work leading up to the songs so that you can set your cast mates and yourself up for success and fun. We will have lots of fun and it may even get a little emotional! It’ll be great! Previous musical improv experience required.
