Good artists borrow. Great artists steal. Improvisers devour.
Every Friday in May, The Plagiarists will absorb the delicious talents of some of the greatest playwrights. Five great actors will work together, each on a steady diet of their own author’s style, to cook up a never-before-seen improvised play.
The recipe for entertainment?
- Mix in equal parts of the familial dysfunction of Sam Shepard and the hyperbolic soapboxing of Eric Bogosian.
- Add in the blatant absurdism of Samuel Beckett, blended with the disconnected memories of John Guare.
- Finish with just a pinch of the sensational situationalism of A.R. Gurney and serve fresh.
Featuring: a Shepardesque Jon Clinkenbeard, a Guare-ish Kristin Firth, a Bogosian-like Marc Majcher, a Beckettonian Asaf Ronen, and a Gurney-centric Kacey Samiee.
Created and directed by Asaf Ronen.
