An Evening With Midnight Society

Buy Tickets

midnightsocietyDarkness is looming over The Hideout Theater this Saturday, but its a funny darkness. The kind of darkness you should check out rather than run away from. Darkness with a name in this town’s improv comedy circle.

Midnight Society has gotten nominated for the prestigious B. Iden Payne award and it all has gone to their heads. World domination is the goal and the first step is taking over the Hideout Theater, crushing the stage with their many talents. Watch in both fear and joy as they brandish their sketch and improv skills, threatening your very life with comedy! Feel the dangerous rhythms of Air Sex champion Joel Keith and local eccentric Fred Bothwell when Honest to God brings you live music! Your horrified eyes will be glued to the screen as your terrified mouth laughs at comedy-styled short films by Midnight Society and The P Company!

Midnight Society is a monster and Coldtowne Theater is their Frankenstein. After an audition, a long discussion, and probably a coin-toss or two, the theater’s instructors took a group of students (Lance Gilstrap, Joel Keith, Elizabeth Leader, Andy Petruzzo, Nick Ramirez, Stephen Short, Jericho Thorp) and turned it into a troupe of improvisors. Midnight Society; however, is not your typical student troupe. Midnight Society is a blind date that worked.

Made up of stand up and sketch comedians, filmmakers, musicians, and writers, Midnight Society was named the Best New Troupe of 2007 by the Austin Improv Collective and has been tearing up the national comedy circuit. The Hideout is definitely going to be getting something special this weekend so make sure you’re there to experience this rare opportunity at witnessing comedy power incarnate! Come on… It’ll be cute!
