AUSTIN - The award winning and highly acclaimed play, La Putain Avec Les Fleurs returns to tour the hippest performance venues in Austin, TX!  The entire month of November, RoHo will present La Putain at various theatrical and musical venues throughout town. (See below for times and locations.)

La Putain Avec Les Fleurs, billed as a “Junk Melodrama”, is set in 1940’s France. A troupe of vagabond performers, known as “Theatre Des Funambules,” along with their live acoustic avant-garde band, Bric-a-Brac, present the story of Baptiste, the world’s greatest clown, and his journey to become a real man. An explosion of song, dance, pantomime, clowning, puppetry, and a Big French Bear, La Putain truly has something for everyone! Those who saw the 2005 production at The Hideout know what an incredible experience this show is – but even they are in for a few surprises!  New twists, new tunes, new tricks, more magic! 

RoHo Theatre Co. is comprised of a group of actors, musicians and designers who originally collaborated in Orlando, Florida. The company has continued to grow with more of the team moving here from Florida and New York.  La Putain Avec Les Fleurs premiered at the 2002 Orlando International Fringe Festival where it won several awards including the prestigious "Best Production.” In fact, La Putain received so much acclaim that it was brought back by popular demand for a week of performances at The Orlando Shakespeare Festival.  In August of 2005, La Putain Avec Les Fleurs made its Austin debut at The Hideout Theatre. The show was received with fantastic reviews, sold out performances and nominations for two Iden B. Payne awards: Best Musical Production and Best Set. The current production is designed as a “Tour of Austin” in preparation for future tours of national and international theaters, festivals and live music venues.
