| In September, The Climate Project began training 1,000 citizens to give Al Gore's "Inconvenient Truth" presentation in their communities. Austinite Colin Rowan, director of regional communication at Environmental Defense, is among the small faculty training the presenters, and he will be presenting the slideshow throughout Austin beginning this November. You're invited to attend the showings on January 22 and 29 at the Hideout Theatre at 617 Congress Ave. By now, most people have heard about the documentary about global warming. Since its release in May, it has become the 3rd most successful documentary in US film history. Film critic Roger Ebert said "You owe it to yourself to see this film. If you do not, and you have grandchildren, you should explain to them why you decided not to." Many may not be aware of the story behind the movie. Al Gore has been traveling the world for the last several years presenting a slideshow about the science behind and the evidence of global warming. That slideshow became the crux of the film and has been called one of the best presentations ever created. It is fact-based, non-partisan and remarkably powerful. Rowan will be presenting the slideshow at four engagements at the Hideout Theatre (617 Congress) through February. Admission is free, but seating is limited to 70.
