Auditions

The Hideout is auditioning for upcoming shows!  Auditions are open to anyone — Hideout students are especially encouraged to come out as auditions are a great experience.

Wednesday, January 4, 7-10pm (in 30-minute sections) at the Hideout
Process directed by Jeremy Lamb
Process is a narrative longform structure that gives the audience the opportunity to peek in on the creative process of producing a play, each portion being spoofed through several stages (auditions, table read, rehearsal and opening night). Of course it’s all improvised, and each improviser has essentially two characters in the show, the actor they’re playing and the character the actor is playing in the play. Read more info here…

Show times: Saturdays at 8pm in March and April
Rehearsal schedule: Wednesday nights in January, February and March.

To sign up for a rehearsal time slot (space is limited) email cupholders@gmail.com and include your name, phone number, and your availability from 7-10pm on January 4.

Sunday, January 15, 4-7pm at the Hideout
After School Improv
directed by Jason Vines

The Hideout Theatre bravely tackles the issues your parents were too awkward to talk about, in an improvised homage to the After School Specials we all grew up on. Each episode addresses a problem that teenagers have faced since the dawn of time, in a melodramatic, cautionary, family-appropriate, ham-fisted way, just like those “very special” shows you watched as a kid… except this time they’re funny on purpose. **This production will be cast entirely from Hideout students and recent graduates.** Read more info here…

Show times: Saturdays at 6pm, March 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st
Rehearsal schedule: Sundays from 4 to 7pm, January 22nd through March 4th

This audition is open to all current students of The Hideout, or people who have taken a Level One through Six class within the last year. Please email jason@hideouttheatre.com to reserve a spot. Please put “After School Improv Auditions” in the subject line. If you have any questions about whether you are eligible, just ask Jason.
