The ladies of Rook are bringing you a three week intensive in advanced musical improv! With over 30 years of combined musical, acting and improv experience, you’ll be sure to level up your musical improv skills and have a blast in the process!

WEEK ONE
Alternative Song Styles
Learn a plethora of fun and different ways to get you, your troupe, and your musician into a powerful song right away. This class blends the best of the modern musical improv for which Rook is known as well as a healthy dose of singing basics and improv exploration.

WEEK TWO
Musical Bravery
Jump into the song right away. Learn how to sing like your character knows EXACTLY what is happening while the improvisor catches up to the emotional subtext of the scene. Take a leap of faith and sing your heart out.

WEEK THREE
Give and Take
Deepen your musical skills and practice building and releasing extreme tension for incredibly powerful songs. This is an advanced diagnostics class that will help students collaborate and incorporate their musician and fellow performers, while also giving students direct feedback for rapid growth.
