Introduction to Playback Theatre: Personal Story-Based Improv
with Austin Playback Theatre

Come play with Austin Playback Theatre and learn the introductory forms associated with this personal story-based improvisational theatre!  You will learn about this interesting, dynamic, and powerful improv practice. Playback Theatre is an interactive approach used in over 50 countries to encourage community building and dialogue.  In Playback Theatre audience members share thoughts, feelings, stories, and memories and watch a team of actors and musicians transform these into a theater piece on the spot.  This workshop is for those who want to learn about Playback Theatre as well as meet the members of Austin Playback Theatre Troupe and chat about opportunities to work with them.

Austin Playback Theatre is an improvisational theater in which the troupe elicits impressions and stories from the audience and plays them back. APT is committed and inspired by the use of story to foster community and understanding. Founded in July 2009, members include Bess Green, Dustin Parks, Katrina Baecht, Debra Latimer, Paige Dearman, Paul Normandin and Emily Breedlove.  Find us on Facebook!
