Neo-Futurist Workshop

Creating Nonfiction Theatre Using Improv
with Kyra Sims of the New York Neo-Futurists
Saturday Intensive (5 hours total):
Sat, August 25 10am-12:30 & 1:30-4pm

Everyone has a story to tell. But how do you get your personal story from party anecdote to a staged theatre piece? Using the fundamentals of both improv and the aesthetics of Neo-Futurism, students will learn how to use the material of every day life, be in conversation with chance, and integrate task and movement as tools to fill the blank page. By the end of this workshop, participants will have written, performed and workshopped both individual and collectively-written short plays that they can use in sketch shows or short play festivals.
