Level Three: Playing with Playing
In Level One you got comfortable with risk and fun. Level Two gave you the tools to begin strong, compelling scenes. Level Three is a mandate for mischief and an answer to the age-old question of What comes next?
In the final level of our introductory series you’ll discover techniques for playfully navigating stories and games in the moment — knocking out satisfying scenes (beginning, middle and end) without too much stress or effort. Learn to find the game, heighten and explore. Learn to build a compelling platform and execute a killer tilt. Learn to nail the ending with a callback or counter-tilt. Learn lots of improv jargon.
Classes meet six times for three hours each week, limit 12 students. Level Three culminates in a student showcase in the Sunday Weekender. After Level Three students are eligible to play in the Hideout’s Saturday night show, Maestro.
